One-on-One Overland Cooking Classes at XOverland Ranch's BIG THING. Three Forks, MT.

Dates: July 10th and 11th, 2026.

Join Chef Jason and his team for a series of classes where you cook, hands-on and in real-time, in a dedicated overland camp kitchen! You'll receive personalized instruction and get to eat what we cook!

Two classes are scheduled.

 

Cast iron and carbon steel pans are our go-to when cooking in the field and we want to break down the myths, legends, and sacrilege surrounding their use. The Carbon Steel/Cast Iron Cookery class, featuring butter-basted steak and eggs with spiced green apple slaw, will cover all you need to know to successfully utilize these types of cookware in the field. 

 

Our second course, a Foul Weather Contingency class, features lightweight nesting cookware critical to any overlander. We'll walk you through our go-to "backup meal"... Japanese Curry spiked with kabocha squash and fresh ginger, showcasing how meal planning foresight can pivot into an epic camp experience, even in the worst of conditions. 

 

Ingredients for both classes last up to 14-days on the trail making them incredibly valuable for overlanding!

Attendees and interested audience will also learn our tips and tricks, top-5 overland kitchen tools, recipe troubleshooting, and advanced cooking and food storage methods to elevate your next overland tour! 

Singles and pairs are welcomed to sign up. Come prepared with your own detailed questions as Jason loves to keep his events conversational. Audience guests are also welcomed, come join the show!

Attendees will also be entered in a drawing to win a complete Overland Cookery camp kitchen setup, in collaboration with Partner Steel and GOSO Cookware!
